Species Origin: University of the Philippines Los Baņos, Commercial Strain (v.759)

Cap: 5 - 15 cm in diameter campanulate to broadly convex. Smoky brown to blackish brown fading with age.

Stem: White to yellowish, solid. The base of the stem is covered in a thick volva.

Gills: White becoming pinkish with spore maturity

Spores: Pink, 7-9 by 4-6 micrometers.

Comments: The mycelium of this species tends to die at temperatures below 45F. Do not store cultures in the refrigerator.
