Cap: Shelving clusters of overlapping fan shaped caps sharing a common base. Coloration; gray to brown fading with age, white pores underneath. 2-10 cm in diameter.
Stem: Short, branching with an eccentric attachment to the cap, white, very fibrous.
Gills: Pores 1-3 mm, angular and decurrent onto stem.
Spores: Ellipsoid, smooth 5-7 x 3.5-5 micrometers, white in deposit.
