Comments: Since this is a mycorrhizal species that naturally grows only in association with certain trees it would be extremely difficult cultivate under laboratory conditions. We are not aware of any information regarding the germination of spores. Mycelium will grow on PDYA (potato dextrose yeast agar).
This species has the same toxic hallucinogenic compounds as Amanita muscaria but in much higher amounts. Ingestion of large amounts of Amanita pantherina can be FATAL.
